IVY EDITH GRACE BARRETT -

INTRODUCTION:

My name is Ivy Edith Whitnall ne BARRETT. I was the eldest of daughter of Hannah, my mother, and my father Ernest. During WW 2 I lived at 30 Cornworthy Road, Becontree, Essex with my Mother and my younger sisters Joyce and Marie and brothers Ernest and Geoffrey. My father was called up early in the war and served in the Royal Artillery: he later became a military policeman and was posted oversea to the Middle East. My mother looked after me during my hospitalisation and convalescence.
I didn’t see my father until he was eventually demobilised c.1947.
