Royal British Legion, Guildhall Street; Friday 11th March from 10.30am

Members of the Bury St Edmunds branch of the Royal British Legion will host the B.B.C. People鈥檚 War team and staff from St Edmundsbury Museums Service.

Both teams will be there to listen to and record the stories and experiences about life in Britain from those on the Home Front as well as those serving on the battlefields.

Museum staff will collect the objects and memorabilia that members are kindly loaning the museums for their V.E. / V.J. Commemorative exhibitions.

Trained staff will be there to assist access to People鈥檚 War archive on the internet, and record the stories that will provide today鈥檚 young and future generations a valuable historical resource and it will provide a lasting tribute to all those who lived and died through the experience of the Second World War.
