My mother moved to Worthing area in1938 with me,father a lecturer at Plumpton college, stayed in Lewes. When war was declared we were living in the show bungalow which my mother was buying,no.1 Herbert Rd,Halewick Estate ,or Micky Mouse Town as it was known locally. It was a modern newly built detached bungalow on a corner with a long garden.Unfortunately this only lasted a year as mother had to let and we moved into a farm cottage in Church lane,Sompting.No.1 Titchill Farm.We spent the years 1939 -1943 there,a lot more memories. In midsummer 43,we moved to Cherry Tree Cottage Cokeham Lane Sompting for a few months, then mother found The OLD SUSSEX GUEST HOUSE,renamed it Smugglers, and the rest is history, rosemary
