My father, who is now 85, served in the RAF during the War. Not as an ace pilot but in the more down to earth aspect of clearing up the pieces of aircraft plus of those who didn't make a happy landing.
Not exciting but like many, many more he helped to make the organisation work.
I learned a lot about the basics of life at that time and I hope that others might find his story of interest too.
