When I was a lad my father had a story about a crash in a Wellington bomber printed in a Sunday newspaper. I put my mind to create a website telling this story http://www.buckdenpike.co.uk thus making it available world wide on the Internet. It's can now also be read here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/ww2/A1317647
Strangely, within a day of launching the buckdenpike.co.uk website, a 大象传媒 journalist spotted the account and made a five minute program about it on 大象传媒 Radio 4 'You and Yours', 20 Oct 1999.
Dad was shot down over Germany in a bombing raid and held as a PoW at Stalag VIII-B/Stalag 344 for many years, made two escape attempts, and endured the horrendous Lamsdorf Death March. Do read this tragic story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/ww2/A1317638
I'm hoping dad's wartime experiences might one day appear as short films or TV plays to help preserve history. [Latest News: UKTV History Channel is screening a new 5 part series, '1945' starting April 4th 2005 and incorporating material from the Lamsdorf Death March story]
I've have created a Discussion Board for those with an an interest in the Stalag VIII-B PoW camp: http://disc.server.com/Indices/134484.html Through this message board, a long lost internee made contact with my father. What a small world!
During my spare time I help out International best selling authors Robert Bauval http://www.robertbauval.com and Graham Hancock http://www.grahamhancock.com with their websites and and prepare graphic presentation material for some of their books.
