My research interest revolves around my father's time on the ship between Autumn 1941 and February 1946.
This involves principally the Arctic Convoys of 1942 - 1943, and the relief of Japanese prison camps in Java/Sumatra (Batavia) during the summer of 1974.
Dad was a Hostilities Only gunnery rating, and I know little more than that. If anyone else is researching their relatives' role on the Cumberland during WWII, I would be delighted to hear from them.
Many thanks.
