Hello, my name is Jane. Ilive now in Cardiff. Iwas brought up in the Black Country area north of Birmingham. My Dad was in the Home Guard during the War. He would tell me stories of their exploits. Usually, they had very few real weapons to begin with and often their preparations for the Invasion would end at 6 o clock when the Pub opened! They really believed Hitler wouldnt stand a chance of winning here but his best chance was ti invade on a Sunday-when most people had the day off and slept late!
