I was born in Trinidad in the West Indies in 1946 and emigrated with my family to Wales in 1964, when my father transferred from the oil refinery and his shipping job in Pointe-a-Pierre to a newly built refinery on the south side of Milford Haven where he worked again with shipping. I read law at the University of Kent and worked from 1970 in the Citizens Advice Bureaux service all over London. In 1978 worked in Job Centres in the London Borough of Camden and joined the library service in Camden in 1984. I am currently a librarian.
I have vivid memories of my parents' stories of the war in Trinidad and of my mother's brothers who both served as pilots in the RAF. One was a decorated squadron leader and the other was shot down early in the war and spent all of it in a POW camp. It is their stories I would like to tell and do further research on.
