Worcestershire Library and History Centre holds microfilm and microfiche copies of Worcestershire records and some national records, all helpful for tracing your family tree.
There are also extensive photographic collections and reference books about Worcester and Worcestershire, local trade directories from 1790 onwards, local maps, the photographic survey of Worcestershire (on microfiche), and newspapers from 1712 onwards (on microfilm.
The Centre is fully equipped with 44 microfilm/fiche readers and 15 internet terminals (14 provided by the NOF People鈥檚 Network), but it is still advisable to book in advance of your visit. Use of the service is free, although a small charge is made for any printouts, and donations are, of course, always welcome. You will need a Worcestershire library card to access the computers.
All original documents are held at the Record Office, County Hall, however copies of our catalogues and indexes are available for consultation here.
