I've always hated these kind of intros, you always feel like you're standing there with a plate of cheese and crackers in one hand, a glass in the other hand, and someone wants to shake your hand at a party! Now that bits over!
My dad grew up in London during the war and his version of the war is that of a boy and a great adventure.
My grandfather's story was one of romance, and entertaining the troops.
My grandmother, a telephone operator, her stories were the everyday tales of just getting by.
As a child, I ducked for cover whenever the beginning of a sentence started with- during the war...and mind you when the war was on! Now I wish I had paid attention to all of those stories!
Currently I am doing research on Gravesend, and will be focusing on the general history of this area. So you if have any stories I would love to hear them. Right now, I am collecting memories from people who do not have access to a computer and will be posting their stories as they come in.
What do I do? I write and mentor other writers. There is nothing better in the world than spending a day hashing over some new writing project, whether it is an article, screenplay, my latest project or even editing my current work. The editing never ends!
For fun- I love photography, particularly black and white, walking my Border Terrier Hadleigh, working at the theatre, yoga, and learning Chopin. That's all for now. A warm hello to all!
