I am researching my Great Uncle who was in the 2nd Battlion The Gordon Highlanders. Angus was one of the unfortunates who were captured when Singapore fell. He managed to survive his time on the railway.

I am trying to gather as much information as i can about his time in the Army:

Recruit Training - what was the syllabus?what was life like? - how were the barrack rooms arranged? how were lockers laid out? what uniforms did they wear?

Daily / weekly routine in the battalion?
