My name is Jenny and I was born in 1946. Like many of my generation I grew up with stories of the war.
My dad was the company barber in the 1st army which later became the 8th army. He would have been about 3O at the time.
I wonder if there is anyone left who would remember him. He was of slight build at that time weighing only 9 stone, dark hair and a pale complexion. He had a moustace and people said he looked like Ronald Coleman.
He became lost in the desert and was later invalided out. He sadly died in 1967.
