When I first saw, then read, People's War web site I instantly became interested, for the simple reason I lived through it. Further more, for the ordeals people went through, and be recorded, it has to be of great interest for future generations. I don't think my contribution will be all that great but it will be something.
When war started I was only ten years old, which limited my ability to understand the full consequences of events.
I can remember certain aspects, and experiences, and no more. It is not an Anne Frank diary. But there, I guess that will be true for all of us.
At fourteen I left school ( this would be around the time of D-Day): ten years later I married and had large family and now have (a football team) of grandchildren, which my wife and I are very proud.
