Iwas born in 1942 so much of my writing will be from memories of the time my mother spent during the second world war.
My father like many other fathers spent most of the war abroad.Also my mothers brothers were away from this island, all have intriged me with there account of that period.But my fist contrbution will be of my mother and her friends struggle to keep some kind of normal life going.
I have retired now and have a sister. My father died in 1953 from the result of injuries he recevied at Casino Italy, he also survived Dunkirk,Noth Africa,sicily and at the end of the warAustria with the army of occupation.He was stationed at Maidstone with the Royal West Kent Regiment he was an officers servent(BAT MAN}and a Lewis gunner.
