I am one of a group of old schoolfriends who after a reunion of "old girls" in London, decided to join together to write a book - mainly as a record for our children & grandchildren.
We were the "War Babies", born during the time of Ernest Bevin's time as Minister of Labour. We have recalled our origins & early war memories & then later growing up in post-war London during the long years of austerity.
We have remained lifelong friends, and although our paths have inevitably diverged - several of us now living abroad - we have always kept in touch.
