I am contributing to this web site as after the death of my parents I found my mothers diaries and some paperwork my parents had written regarding the War for my young daughter. I knew the memories would be lost unless I wrote it down. My parents were married in August 1939 and were separated when my father joined the RAF in December 1939. I still have his call up papers.I often wonder if mum's evacuee Peter Bowles is alive. He would have been born in 1935 so should be nearly 70 now.
My father was selected to go to Uxbridge to study operations in No 11 Fighter Group so that he could instruct men and women in operational radio work.My father became an instructor for the RAF on wireless etc for officers and staff. He instructerd at Cranwell, Bobbington, Felixstowe and Chipping Warden.I wonder if anyone can remember Corporal Brooks and later Sergeant Brooks.
