I'm a Guernsey resident, born in 1947. I grew up with stories of the occupation of the island from my father, who stayed here, and of the evacuation from my mother and sisters, who were evacuated to Stockport in Cheshire.I am a member of the Women's Institute, and many of our members also have very moving and sometimes amusing stories to tell of the same period-hence my interest even though I didn't actually live through those times.
