I was in the Territorial Army at the outbreak of WW2 and was therefore called up.
I was in my county regiment but being only 17 years of age after a few months I was classed as an 'immature' and in company with many others under 18 I was removed and posted to the Royal Artillery.
At the end of the war I was a gunnery instructor, BSM(AIG), and returned somewhat reluctantly to civilian life on an 'interrupted apprenticeship' scheme.
