I served with the 50th Tank Regiment being drafted to them a month or two before the battle of Alamein and remained with the regiment in North Africa until the final battle at Tunis. I served as a tank commander and following Tunis was in the invasion of Sicily in 1943. After ten days intensive action, my troop was destroyed and only myself and one other survived. I would be glad to hear from any surviving members of the regiment who knew me or my crew. My squadron commander was Major Jenkins. I was wounded and taken PoW by the Germans and served the rest of the war in German prison camps and hospitals. My name and rank WS/Cpl (Bill) Williams. Please leave any messages in the pigeon hole.
