Metal eagle emblem
“The eagle is the symbol of Poland. This metal eagle came from the Polish Hospital at Ormskirk. Ormskirk Hospital was a transit hospital dealing with the war wounded. As many as 400 patients would arrive in a day, which gives some idea of the casualty figures suffered by the Polish Army.” Jonathan Gammond, Wrexham County Borough Museum.
