Your Story: Nana Audrey Henderson

I went all over different countries. just to see my friends. I often slept paulines at weekends. Once when i was sleeping at paulines house we lost her little sister lucy. We could not find lucy anywhere. When i went to their toilet in the back yard,i found lucy lying across there toilet fast asleep. Then we had our tea.I enjoyed spending my money going to the pictures.

My nana was twnty one in the 1960,s Q what were you doing for a living when you were 21? A I was working in my dads sweet shop. Q How did you travel to work? A The sweet shop was near our house so i walked. Q How did you get your job? A It was my dads shop and he just gave it to my sister and me. Q did you need any qualifications? A No. Q How many hours did you work each day? A Eight hours a day. Q Was it hard work? A yes very. Q how did you get paid? A Weekly. Q did you think this was fair? A Yes. Q How did you spend your wages? A Shopping and going out with my friends. Q what did you enjoy about your job? A meeting people. Q what did you not like about your job? A I liked all of it,i was very happy there. Q Did you like your life? A Yes very much so. QWho did you spend most of your time with? A I used to look after my little brother while y parents were working in the fish and chip shop. Q did you spend time with your family? A yes a lot.
