Your Story: The Dangers of Platforms

Man and woman
© My husband and I all dressed up at the Sunderland Civic Centre
The fashion was hot pants, mini dresses and skirts, pink /white platform boots and shoes. Our hair was long and straight. To Straighten my hair I used to iron it.

The men wore velvet Flared trousers, long hair and platform shoes. Fred (husband) fell off his platforms and broke his ankle twice. My favourite outfit was long bright pink platforms, with a long sleeved buttoned dress with the top three buttons fastend, with hot pants under it.

4) Where would you go on holiday and why? We went to Butlins and Pontins because everyone with familys went there.

5) Did you have a job? Did you like it? if yes describe what it was like? I did not have a job, because I was home with the baby.

7) Did you have a T.V? Was it black and white? Yes, I did have a T.V and it was black and white, there was no video players or computers just big radios.

8) Did you have a car? If yes what was it like? I had a green mini.

10) What year was it when you 21? It was 1972.

11) How did you travel? We walked sometimes or we took the bus and the car. But I could not drive. So if Fred was in we would go in the car.
