Your Story: My Grandma

Could you describe what your job was like? It was very interesting as I made paper cartons.

What was your homelife like? My homelife was a very happy one.

What age did you leave home at? I left home at twenty years of age.

What was the fashion like when you were twenty-one and could you describe it to me? The fashion when I was twenty-one was sixties style and PVC clothes.

What kind of money did you use? The money I used was sterling.(£.S.d)

What was your ambition for when you turned twenty-one and has it changed since then? My ambition for twenty-one was to be rich and I don't think it has changed since then.

Can you tell me where you went on vacation? I went on vacation to a holiday camp in Somerset called Pontins.

What was life like without modern equipment and what was different? Life was better without modern equipment as a lot more people made conversation. It was also better as cars were not as popular as they are nowadays.

What year was it when you were twenty-one? The year when I was twenty-one was December 1968.

What were the major news headlines when you were twenty-one? The major news headlines were the cold war between Russia and America and Space exploration.

Could you tell me a story about when you were twenty-one? When I was twenty-one I had a baby boy and we later christened him in Easington Lane church.

What was your working wage and were you happy with the amount you got? My working wage was £42 a week and I was not happy with it.
