Alex is a self-confessed news nerd and loves reporting in the public interest and holding the powerful to account.

He is an FOI specialist with a particular interest in home affairs, local government and the business of sport. 

Before joining the 大象传媒 in 2014, Alex was a reporter for four years covering the Black Country for the six daily editions of the Express & Star newspaper.

His ability to manipulate data was first honed during a three-month 大象传媒 attachment in 2016 shining a light on the accounts of the 92 clubs in the Premier League and English Football League, manually entering 18,785 individual pieces of information to build a giant database.

Away from the office, Alex plays cricket, darts, football and hockey for fun. He supports West Bromwich Albion and likes cooking too. He speaks French and German increasingly poorly.
