Eye Candy makes the trip south of the border for their launch night
at Tiger Tiger in Manchester's Printworks and brings with it Nottingham's
finest Allister Whitehead.
Fantastic
album sales and a massive following have made him one of the UK's
most popular DJs so you need to get your tickets quick. His past
dates in Manchester have attracted capacity crowds.
He's
looking forward to the gig as he told Debbie Troops when
she caught up with him. Listen to the full interview:

Allister
on... how it all began "...At a club in Nottingham called Garage. House was the
music there and it was great - full of energy and I just loved it.It
was where I got my first big break playing with Graeme Park..."
Allister
on... the House scene now "...I think it was a great time to be into clubs and I
don't think anything will ever reach the heights of the 'superclub'
days in '96 and '97 but I prefer the scene now. It's exciting and
I still love what I do.I think the music's very exciting at the
moment especially with some of the producers they're doing great
things..."
Allister
on... making his own music "...It's the most important thing for me right now.I mean
I'll always love d'jing and I really still love getting in front
of the crowds but being in the studio is the future for me and it's
what I really enjoy.I'm working with a really brilliant guy right
now Michele Chiavirini and some new tracks will be coming out soon.I'm
really excited about it..."
Allister
on... pseudonyms "...Yeah it's true I do use pseudonyms and it keeps a bit
of mystery about the projects..it's fun really..."
Allister
on... working with popstars "...It's great working with people like Natalie Imbruglia
and Robbie Williams. I mean for them they just want to put a house
slant on their tracks but it gives me profile to a wider audience
and that's good for the scene as a whole..."
Eye
Candy vs StrictlyFunky happens on Sunday 20 April 2003 at Tiger Tiger
in the Printworks Manchester.
