Actress Lindsay Lohan sobbed in a US court as she was sentenced to 90 days in prison for violating her probation in a 2007 drug case in July. She served less than two weeks.

Former Take That bandmates Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams reunited on stage at the Help for Heroes concert, performing together for the first time in over a decade. Williams officially rejoined the band in July for a new album and tour.

Lady Gaga's meat dress from the MTV Video Music Awards in September, where she picked up eight trophies, inspired some canine tributes.

Davina McCall presented Big brother series two winner Brian Dowling with the accolade of Ultimate Big Brother champion in the last ever series on Channel 4. The visibly upset presenter hosted the reality show for 10 years.
