    The West Midlands Police area has been awarded £1.8m over the next two years to help tackle the problem of gangs and violence.

    The news was welcomed by Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson, who said it would be used on a range of schemes, including mentoring for young people to steer them away from criminality.

    Four miles of queuing traffic is being reported on the M6 southbound in Warwickshire due to a broken-down vehicle.

    A recovery service is at the scene, between J3A and J3, said Highways England.

    Civilian victims of World War One are to be remembered at a service in Stratford-upon-Avon today.

    The town's Quakers will be holding a silent vigil at the Guild Chapel from 12:00.

    Roger Matthews from Stratford Quakers said the millions of civilians who died would be remembered, along with those who were made homeless, had their livelihoods destroyed or lost loved ones in the conflict.

    A pregnant shop worker was threatened and pushed to the ground by armed robbers, who made off with cash and cigarettes.

    The Norwich Express store, in Marston Green was targeted by the gang, two of which were carrying guns, at about 17:15 on 9 November.

    The shop worker was left shaken but uninjured during the "terrifying" ordeal, said West Midlands Police.

    Officers are asking any witnesses to come forward.

    Online food delivery riders in Birmingham are to display missing persons posters on their backpacks as part of a campaign to find loved ones in time for Christmas.

    They'll join hundreds of riders in London, Manchester and Bristol displaying posters on the bags used to carry food as part of the Missing People charity campaign, Deliveroo has announced.

    The company's app will also give customers the opportunity to donate to the charity.

    It said it would also be encouraging its more than 15,000 riders to sign up to Missing People's Child Rescue alerts, which send out notifications when a child goes missing in their area.

    About 1,000 beacons were lit at the end of Remembrance Day commemorations last night to mark a return to the light of peace after the horrors of World War One.

    A garden in Sutton Coldfield continues to be investigated by officers in connection with the disappearance of London estate agent Suzy Lamplugh.

    The 25-year-old disappeared in July 1986 and was declared dead, presumed murdered, in 1994. A body has never been found.

    Police are searching at a house once owned by the mother of John Cannan - the prime suspect in Suzy's killing.
