    There are long delays on the M2 eastbound tonight after an accident involving a car transporter and two lorries.

    It's between J6 A251 (Faversham) and J7 A2 Canterbury Road/A299 Thanet Way/Brenley Lane/ Homestall Lane (Brenley Corner).

    There is congestion on the M2 to J5 A249 (Sittingbourne/Stockbury Roundabout) due to a diesel spillage.

    There is a diversion in operation - traffic is advised to leave M2 J6 and take the A251 North towards Faversham.

    Take the A2 East and re-join the M2 J7. Long distance traffic is advised to use the M20 and A20.

    Parents have been told they could be banned from a primary school playground if they swear in front of the children.

    Sam Linton, the head teacher of Temple Grove Academy in Tunbridge Wells said children were being exposed to "upsetting language".

    Writing in the newsletter to parents, she said: "Some parents [have been] heard swearing on academy premises and at the gates in front of children.

    "If it continues we may have to consider banning these individuals from the premises," she wrote.

    She said some children were copying what they had heard.

    A man in his eighties has sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a car in North Lane just after 09:20 BST this morning.

    Officers would like to speak with a woman who was driving a small, blue hatchback which was in the area at the time.

    The driver is not suspected of any wrongdoing, but it's thought she may have important information on how the collision happened.

    A senior South East Conservative MP is defending the decision to keep Chris Grayling as Secretary of State for Transport.

    Many commuters are angry at Mr Grayling for not intervening directly to try to end the Southern Rail dispute, which began in April 2016.

    But Reigate's Crispin Blunt is backing him.

    Events are being held to mark the 350th anniversary of the Battle of Medway.

    It was one of England's worst naval defeats, with Dutch troops occupying Sheerness fort and their fleet destroying and capturing several Royal Navy ships in Chatham.

    The Dutch have sent a navy warship to take part in the council's two-week commemoration of the event.

    Southern Rail passengers say they're disappointed that Chris Grayling's kept his job as Secretary of State for Transport.

    Passengers have faced widespread disruption and more than a year of strike action over Driver Only Operated trains.

    Mr Grayling's faced criticism for refusing to intervene directly to help bring an end to the dispute.
