Sir Bruce Forsyth has signed up for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite speculation in the press that he would retire, the ´óÏó´«Ã½ has announced that he will return again alongside Tess Daly when the show starts again in September.

Claudia Winkleman, who co-hosts the Sunday results show with Tess Daly, will again take his place.

However, the 85-year-old host has revealed that he will miss three of the live Saturday shows on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One.

The veteran television host, who is back for his 11th series, said: "After all the normal speculation, I'm doing it again. Why not?

"But seriously, here's hoping for another spectacular series."

Mark Linsey, controller of entertainment commissioning at the ´óÏó´«Ã½, said: "I'm delighted Bruce is back. He's the life and soul of the Strictly party so it's great news that we've managed to come up with a schedule that works for him and the show."

Bruce Forsyth began his television career in the 1950s and has hosted shows including The Price Is Right, The Generation Game and Play Your Cards Right.

In 2011 he collected a knighthood from the Queen for services to entertainment.
