Calvin Harris tops list of the world's highest-paid DJs

Calvin Harris has topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid DJs.

The British producer earned $46 million (拢29.5m) last year to knock Tiesto from the top spot. The Dutch DJ earned $32m (拢20.5m).

It's the first time the star has made it into the top 10.

The 27-year-old told : "The rise of dance music has been astronomical in the last three years. I happened to be in the right place at the right time."

Calvin Harris broke chart history earlier this month by becoming the first artist to have nine singles form the same album in the top 10.

Thinking About You, featuring singer Ayah Marar, reached number nine in the Official Chart at the start of the month and is the most recent release from 18 Months.

David Guetta is in third place on the list with $30m (拢19.2m), while DJ group Swedish House Mafia earned $25m (拢16.3m) over the past 12 months.

Deadmau5, Avicii and Afrojack also feature on the list with earnings of around $20m (拢12.2m) with Skrillex, Kaskade and Armin van Buuren are a few million dollars behind.

Pauly D from Jersey Shore also appears on the list, matching Diplo's $13 million (拢8.3m).
