Cosy knitwear for rescued chickens in East Sussex
Rescued battery hens who need a little help to stay warm in East Sussex this winter are wearing knitted jackets, or "chickinis".
Many of the birds arrived at the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, in Ringmer, completely featherless.
Supporters knitted the jackets to help them through the cold weather as they adjusted to lives away from their cages.
The jackets fit over the chicken's head and have buttons at the side.
