Pete Best on Beatles sacking 'bombshell'
It is 50 years since The Beatles had their first chart hit with Love Me Do which went to number 17 in the UK charts.
Drummer Pete Best recorded the first version of Love Me Do in June 1962.
But he was unaware that producer George Martin was unhappy with his style of drumming.
The decision was made to replace him and manager Brian Epstein broke the news in a meeting with the drummer.
Pete Best talks about what it was like to be sacked from The Beatles.
Love Me Do: Beatles 62 is broadcast on Sunday, 7 October at 22:00 on 大象传媒 Four and on the iPlayer for seven days thereafter.
