Dramatic World War Z crash scene shot in Glasgow
Filming for Hollywood blockbuster World War Z has seen the staging of a dramatic crash scene in the centre of Scotland's largest city.
A cast and crew of 1,200, including American actor Brad Pitt, has been shooting scenes in Glasgow's George Square since Wednesday.
More filming for the movie will take place in the city until 31 August.
American cars and street lights have been brought in to resemble Philadelphia, the film's setting.
Work on the Paramount Pictures movie, which is based on the Max Brooks novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, has already taken place in Valletta in Malta and in Cornwall.
Glasgow City Council said that the film shoot was the biggest the city had seen.
The location manager for World War Z said Glasgow had been chosen because of its architecture, wide roads and grid layout.
