A Ceredigion school is to close despite a last minute bid to save it.

Councillors had 'called in' a local authority move to shut Ysgol Cwmpadarn in Llanbadarn - meaning the decision had to be scrutinised further.

But members of Ceredigion council's learning communities scrutiny committee have backed the original decision made by cabinet.

The English-medium school should now close at the end of the academic year, with pupils moving to nearby primaries.
