Your pictures: Washing
Every week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week the theme was washing and we start with Prashanth Rangachari's photo of people washing clothes on a riverbank in southern India.
Mimi See: "A man washes rice noodles before he spreads them out to dry. This process is part of the traditional way of making rice vermicelli in Bulacan, a province in the Philippines."
Alika Maikau: "Getting the car washed by eager fund-raisers in Ahuimanu, Hawaii."
Sarah Andrews photographs a familiar sight from an unfamiliar angle.
Kathryn Priest: "This image was taken in the spiritual capital of India, Rishikesh, on the banks of the northern Ganges, where the water still runs clear."
Camila Olmedo pictured a woman in Bolivia washing her clothes in a stream.
Anvitha Pillai: "700 stone platforms, 200 washermen, a 100-year family business and some of the warmest people I've ever met. The world's largest outdoor laundry system in existence, Dhobi Ghat in Mumbai, India. The last of its kind."
Sean Anderson used black and white for this photograph; it helps enhance the repeated patterns created by the socks and pegs.
Allen Sharpe: "Washing off after playing in the mud of Turnagain Arm, Alaska".
We finish with a photo from Venice, taken by Ian Parkinson. If you'd like to enter, send your pictures to yourpics@bbc.co.uk. Further details and terms can be seen on the photo blog; just follow the link below this gallery.
