"I spent the day wondering whether I was going to go; because I was so frightened…"

The story...

Since a young age, Jacqueline has known she was a little bit different. As she grew older, this difference started to intrude on her life...

Jacqueline writes...

After my first night at the awareness class, I felt elated, happy to know that there was somewhere I could go where I could speak freely about my experiences with Spirit and be understood. As well as that, somewhere I could go where I could learn from others and develop my knowledge.
Ìý
Since that first night, I quickly moved into a "development circle", which is a group of individuals who develop their skills to work on the rostrum in the Church. For the past almost 2.5 years I have been sitting in Circle each Tuesday evening, and have gained so much from the experience. From the early days of seeing, I now hear, feelÌýand taste-yes that's right, taste-Spirit often likes to bring through a memory of a favourite food and I get to taste it- great if it happens to be something I like, but not so good if it is something that I don't enjoy eating myself!!
Ìý
My work with and forÌýSpirit is a central part of my life. It always was. I always remindÌýmy family and friendsÌýthat Spirit has always been with me, from early childhood. Attending the Belfast Spiritualist Church has not changed my experiences, just helped me understand those experiencesÌýand develop my ability to communicate moreÌýfreely with Spirit.
Ìý
I have developed friendships with many folk along the way. We are all very different people, coming from all walks of life, but we all have one thing in common - our knowledge of the continuous existence of the human soul.
Ìý
I hope that I continue to develop my skills and knowledge in the coming years. One thing is sure - the day I arrived at the Belfast Spiritualist Church is a day I will never forget.

Name: Rae McCusker

Comment: Wonderful story, and wonderful to hear a spiritualist on the radio, wonder how much longer it will take before a Spiritualist, is invited to speak on thought for the day?. Perhaps it will happen sooner rather than later, as a religon,we should expect the same rights as others. Warm Regards Raemonn McCusker President Belfast Spiritualist Church.Love Light and Peace.
