Andi Dawson
I have lived in Belfast for almost 10 years now and I'm starting to think of this place as home. I have been writing since my first year of High School, when my English teacher said she thought I had a knack for words. I haven't got a personal website just now, but you can hear some of my work via . (The 大象传媒 is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.)

You by Andi Dawson
|
I know who you are, but you are a stranger.
I want to get close, but I know that there's danger.
To need someone so much is new and I'm sure
that when I get close, you'll walk out the door.
You gave me new life, without a guarantee
so now I'm just waiting for you to leave me.
But you say you won't do it, you'll stay by my side
and yet I still scamper and worry and hide
the way that I feel, so I stay far away.
You hope I'll get closer and closer each day.
It gives me a sensation to think I'm in love,
as love is so pure, like snow or a dove
and I never realized that it could be so great;
it's weird to have love instead of anger and hate.
I really do need you, but I'm afraid to say,
in case you get up and go one day.
I'll try to trust you and believe all your words,
but it's hard, as in my past, love always hurts.
