Ness
Woods Radio Report
大象传媒 Radio Foyle went down to Ness Woods and spoke to
warden of the visitor's centre Seamus Cartan.
The centre
opened in July 2009 and was built to replicate an old
Irish cottage. The wildlife friendly cottage garden
at the front has proved a hit with the visitors and
teams with insect life from butterflies to damselflies.
They have also planted a small orchard with old Irish apple
varieties, planted 5,000 native trees and have a paddock
housing some rare breed sheep.
Some of the walks are wheelchair
and push chair friendly with access along the river and
to the two ponds.
