Victoria Wright sings in York station A festival on the coast...ival!By Nadia Emam Bannish those winter blues with a celebration of music, dance and art at Scarborough's latest festival. The promotional roadshow is already on the go! An army of sound engineers, an opera singer and plenty of deckchairs have been appearing across North Yorkshire this week. It's all about the promotion of Coastival: a new arts event to hit Scarborough on 13th to 15th February 2009, during the half term holiday. The festival will focus on local, regional and national talent, with special guest appearances from Oscar-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley, and Sir Alan and Lady Ayckbourn. The three-day festival will be a celebration of music, dance, theatre, visual arts, spoken word and comedy, culminating in a spectacular Festival of Light. What to look forward to at Coastival The Coastival team have been gallivanting around different locations with local opera singer Victoria Wright, who has been turning heads with her amazingly bold mezzo soprano voice. They have been at York and Leeds train stations, Bridlington Harbour and shopping centres in Hull and Beverley. Coastival organiser Wendy Clews said: 鈥淲e are taking just a little taste of Coastival on tour to let people know about something really special happening on the Yorkshire coast. We would like as many people as possible to know about Coastival 2009, so that they put it in their diaries now and make sure they come to experience and enjoy it next February. It will be an event not to be missed!鈥 The 大象传媒 is not responsible for the content of external websites Nadia Emamlast updated: 29/01/2009 at 18:40 SEE ALSOYou are in: North Yorkshire > Blast > Blast Arts 2008 > A festival on the coast...ival! |
