Broadway Rooftop Terrace
The public are not allowed up here, that privilage belongs to the
staff at the Broadway.
However, from up here you've got a good view of
Broad Street where the Big Grin Cartoon Festival will be taking
place.
If you look carefully you can also see the Council
house in the distance.
Broadway Facts
- The Broadway was built on the site of a 1839
Weslyan chapel, it was here that great Nottinghamian William Booth,
committed his life to God.
- The Nottingham Film Theatre opened on September
2nd 1966.
- The first films to be shown were: James Ivory's
'Shakespeare Wallah', John Ford's 'The Grapes or Wrath' and 'The
Italian Straw Hat'.
- Broadway was born out of a consortium of local
media organisations, backed by the British Film Institute, East
Midlands Arts, Nottingham City Council and Notts County Council.
- The Broadway was officially established in
1989.
