Help playing audio/video Papa La Bas are Suzi Ruthless and Dwyz plus associated friends who like to create a mellow beat. One of their tracks, Volcano, has an unusual origin. "It was influenced by a Japanese computer game. I usually just start with a beat and then go on a journey on my computer and see what comes out," says Dwyz. Starting outPapa La Bas emerged in 2006. "We got together to do one gig and since then it's gone crazy. Seeing us live is definitely a new experience. It's a meeting of new technology and organic stuff." The live performance sees the band expanded to up to seven members. Changing timesOnce upon a time producer Dwyz was loyal to the world of analogue technology, shunning all things modern. But he's slowly being wooed by improvements in the digital world. "Technology's caught up amazingly with studio equipment. It's mad. You can do amazing things." The musicHaving released a couple of singles Papa La Bas are looking forward to 2009. Their debut album is due out in February.
