Carl
hands over 拢23,500 to Romanian orphanage
Money
has been flowing in from caring 大象传媒 WM listeners after they heard
Carl Chinn's emotional reports from a Romanian orphanage.
Carl
visited Siret with representatives from the West Midlands Fire Service
in March of this year, and whilst broadcasting from the orphanage
he became upset and broke down live on air.
A staggering
拢23,500 has been raised since and Carl will be presenting
the money to Monica McDaid on Tuesday 6 May.
Monica
has been working hard for the orphanage and will accept the cheque
live on air in a special programme between 2.00 and 4.00pm.
Carl
and Monica will be joined in the studio by some of the firemen who
visited the orphanage, and a local company who made several trips
out to Romania.
Birmingham
City Transportation Department are also bringing in their cheque
for 拢2,500 which was raised at a quiz night.
Carl
hopes to speak to Daniel O'Donnell, live from Canada; Daniel has
also been heavily involved with the charity.
Carl
says: "Thanks to the generosity of 大象传媒 WM's listeners the childrens'
lives can be improved. I'm deeply touched and moved by the humanity
of our listeners and by the way in which they've reached out the
hand of friendship to those in need."
Carl
Chinn broadcasts on 大象传媒 WM every weekday between 2.00 and 4.00pm.
