James Fox is voted UK entry for Eurovision 2004 on Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up on 大象传媒 ONE

James Fox singing Hold On To Our Love was today voted by Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up viewers as their choice for this year's UK entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004.

The winning song was written and composed by Gary Miller and Tim Woodcock.

Just under 300,000 votes were cast in just under one hour, in this year's new look show Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up, presented by Terry Wogan and Gaby Roslin tonight on 大象传媒 ONE.

The voting method for this year's programme followed the classic Eurovision Point system involving seven regions of the UK, with each region represented by a special celebrity guest.

The representatives were Fearne Cotton for the South East, Justin Ryan & Colin McAllister for Scotland, Malachi Cush for Northern Ireland, Colin Jackson for Wales, Sonia for the North, Hayley Evetts for the Midlands and Sharron Davies for the South West.

James Fox won all but one of the regional votes.

James Fox will represent the UK at Eurovision 2004, which takes place in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday 15 May.

The event will be broadcast live on 大象传媒 ONE with Terry Wogan providing his usual commentary on one the world's biggest and most eagerly awaited music competitions.

The results for Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up are as follows:

The six artists were chosen for Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up by a panel made up of 大象传媒 and Sony representatives and an independent music expert who chose them on the strength of their talent.

The sixth song was chosen via the Eurovision's traditional British Academy route, for all the nation's budding songwriters.
