The Two Ronnies Sketchbook

大象传媒 ONE, Friday 18 March, 9.00pm

Introduction

In a television career spanning 98 shows, 12 series, various Christmas specials and more than 30 years in the business, Messrs Corbett and Barker regularly attracted some of the biggest audiences in the history of British television with an entertaining mix of gags, sketches, clever comedy monologues and spectacular musical numbers.

The Two Ronnies Sketchbook brings together the unique chemistry shared by two of Britain's best-loved comedy legends as Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett remember their all-time favourite sketches in this special retrospective for 大象传媒 ONE.

Classic sketches such as Mastermind, The Optician's Sketch, Swedish Made Simple, The Phantom Raspberry Blower and extravagant music numbers like the Aldershot Brass Band Ensemble are punctuated with reminiscences from The Two Ronnies as they reveal their personal favourites from one of the most impressive comedy catalogues in mainstream entertainment.

Filmed in front of a studio audience the series draws on the Ronnies' exhaustive knowledge of the archive to present classic sketches alongside some of their lesser known but equally funny ones.

This is a rare opportunity to see the sketches in full, as they were intended to be seen, showcasing The Two Ronnies' incomparable skill for outstanding wit, wordplay and performance.

In typical Two Ronnies tradition, each week they're joined by a musical guest - artists include Katie Melua, Alison Moyet and Lisa Stansfield.

Ronnie Corbett's much loved chair monologues make a welcome return as does a brand new weekly news update along with the duo's famous sign-off:

Ronnie Corbett: "It's a good night from me."
Ronnie Barker: "And it's a good night from him."
Both: "Goodnight."
