The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Children in Need Appeal – bigger than ever!

Ìý

´óÏó´«Ã½ Children In Need on Radio 2

Ìý

Chris Evans is just one of the many Radio 2 presenters who will be joining Terry Wogan and getting involved with the network's money-raising activities this year.

Ìý

Last year the network raised over a million for the charity.

Ìý

Chris will be launching the 24-hour music marathon on Thursday 17 November at 7.00pm inviting listeners to call in to make requests, dedications and pledge money to hear their favourite songs.

Ìý

Radio 2 will also be supporting ´óÏó´«Ã½ Children in Need with the annual Auction Of Items That Money Can't Buy offering an eclectic selection of lots.

Ìý

Last year for example, an exclusive song-writing master class with Robin Gibb went to a lucky bidder for £26,000 and the chance to appear with Terry and some of the cast of EastEnders in a specially-written sketch set in The Queen Vic was snapped up for £26,500.

Ìý

This year's auction lots include: the chance to go on Christmas Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Terry to play for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Children in Need; a weekend in the wild with Chris Evans and Ray Mears; playing tennis doubles with Jonathan Ross; presenting the Man of the Match Award at the Carling Cup final; attending the PFA Awards with the cream of British footballers; appearing with Terry in a special edition of The Archers; trucking in Sweden with Radio 2's Sally Traffic; a day on a nuclear submarine; and a trip to Ascension Island on the equator to meet the big turtles.

Ìý

There is also a ´óÏó´«Ã½ Children In Need competition for listeners to win the chance to go to Memphis to celebrate the birthday of the king of rock 'n' roll, Elvis Presley.
