Biography - Armando Iannucci
Scottish-born Armando Iannucci is a comic writer, performer, director
and producer.
听
He originally worked for 大象传媒 Radio 1 as a producer on shows such as
the Mary Whitehouse Experience in the Eighties, before venturing onto
the other side of the glass to present.
听
He was introduced to the world of radio whilst working at 大象传媒 Radio Scotland,
and went on to produce Girls Will Be Girls, On The Hour and Knowing
Me, Knowing You.
听
He is now a regular panellist on the News Qquiz and the 99p Challenge,
as well as presenting a number of talks on classical music for 大象传媒 Radio
3.
听
His own topical show, Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive, starts on
大象传媒 Radio 4 on Tuesday 10 May.
听
For television, Armando wrote and produced Knowing Me, Knowing You
and The Day Today; he also added directing to his credits on I'm Alan
Partridge.
听
He performed in the Friday and Saturday Night Armistice Shows, as well
as the Stupid Version last year and the Armando Iannucci shows.
听
He wrote and directed one of nine short films in Tube Tales called
Mouth.
听
Armando has won two Sony Radio Awards and three British Comedy Awards,
one of which was a special award for his contribution to television
comedy.
听
He and Chris Morris were jointly awarded a 1992 Writers Guild award
for On the Hour.
