Orlando Bloom and Samantha Morton on The Graham Norton Show

Graham Norton goes behind scenes at Oscars with Orlando Bloom and Samantha Morton

Graham Norton continues the first season of his new prime-time series tonight on 大象传媒 Two when he gets the lowdown on the film world from two of the UK's most successful and provocative young acting talents - Orlando Bloom and Samantha Morton.

Heart-throb actor Orlando Bloom has just flown to the UK back from this year's Oscars.

He talks about the perils of publicity and the party circuit there: "Iit's annoying because it kills the romance and the moment of meeting someone... and everyone wants to know about it, the magic's gone."

On travelling with Pirates Of The Caribbean co-star Johnny Depp: "We were on a private plane and he had a lot of very good red wine - by the time we got to the other end we were stumbling off; it was very wrong."

And the antics of Keith Richards on the set of the new movie: "They called him the first morning at 6am and left him to hang around for five hours - he was out of it, and that was the end of that day - and it's $1m a day!"

Samantha - Oscar-nominated for Best Actress in 2000 and again in 2004 - talks about the reality of being up for the award.

"It was a fluke... you have to campaign really hard for it... [but] in America they didn't like me, I wasn't famous enough," she says.

And she reveals her less-than-glamorous experiences at the ceremony: "The first time I lost my ticket and they wouldn't let me in. I was sitting in a really obscure place, shoved in a corner... my daughter was six weeks old, I was breast-feeding, I had this great suit but I couldn't get it on... my daughter had her own trailer."

She also reveals that she lost the priceless jewellery she was loaned for the awards while at Sean Penn's house.

"I wanted to get hammered so I phoned Sean Penn, nipped round, got bladdered, woke up the next day with the hangover from hell and thought where are they [earrings]? I found them again a week later in San Francisco."

The Graham Norton Show is a So Television production for 大象传媒 Two.

The Graham Norton Show, Thursday 1 March 2007, 10pm, 大象传媒 Two (extended repeat Sunday, 11.20pm)
