Newsnight poll: Twice as many people think Gordon Brown is tainted by sleaze than David Cameron

Just over twice as many people think Prime Minister Gordon Brown is tainted by sleaze (57%) compared with Leader of the Opposition David Cameron (28%), according to an ICM poll for 大象传媒 Two's Newsnight.

The poll asked people to put aside their party preferences and, choosing as many or as few as they liked, to say which of the three main party leaders was tainted by sleaze.

Fifty-seven per cent replied Gordon Brown, 28% David Cameron, 15% Vince Cable, and 33% don't know.
听
The results of the poll will be broadcast tonight on 大象传媒 Two at 10.30pm.

Asked who was cut out to be Prime Minister, 43% of the respondents said Gordon Brown, 41% David Cameron, 8% Vince Cable, and don't know 26%.
听
The poll also asked which of the three is a competent leader.
听
Forty-three per cent of those polled thought David Cameron was a competent leader, compared to 42% for Gordon Brown and 14% for Vince Cable.
