Hollywood star Antonio Banderas looks at the man behind the myth in Che Lives!, a 大象传媒 Radio 2 documentary marking what would have been Ernesto "Che" Guevara's 80th year.

听

Banderas, who played the character Che in the film Evita, profiles Guevara and explores the iconography of the Argentine revolutionary.

听

The programme also includes contributions from Robert Redford, Benicio del Toro, Gael Garcia Bernal, Steven Soderbergh and Germaine Greer.

听

In the tumultuous year that followed Guevara's death in 1967, the slogan "Che Lives" appeared on walls around the world, a symbol of the rebellious spirit of the times.

听

The famous image of a bearded, long-haired Che, looking defiant and determined, taken by photographer Alberto Korda in 1960, has perhaps since become the most reproduced picture in history.

听

Contributors to the documentary include: Robert Redford, Steven Soderbergh, Benicio del Toro, Gael Garcia Bernal, Walter Salles, Paul Webster, Rankin, Alan Parker, Tim Rice, Wayne Hemingway, Germaine Greer, Tom Morello, Carlos Acosta, George Galloway, Ricky Gervais, Dr听William Rowlandson, Trisha Ziff, Jim Fitzpatrick and Jon Lee Anderson.
