The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Sheffield Kids' Scanner Appeal is to receive a welcome boost from Sheffield artist Joe Scarborough this weekend.
Joe has joined forces with the radio station to sell signed copies of his famous Children's Hospital painting, with every penny raised going to the station's appeal.
He will be in the Winter Garden this Saturday (6 March 2010) between 10.30am and 12.30pm selling the paintings for £35.
Joe said: "The Children's Hospital has saved the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of children from all over our region.
"When I heard about the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sheffield campaign to raise £500,000 for a new scanner I immediately offered my help."
Joe's painting of the Children's Hospital is a limited edition of 500 and is in the instantly recognisable style of the artist.
Radio Sheffield Editor Gary Keown said: "We're thrilled that an artist of Joe's repute has donated these paintings to our appeal.
"This is a unique opportunity to get a signed copy of a limited edition print by an artist whose fame stretches across the world, and it's helping a very worthy cause."
The Kids' Scanner Appeal was launched in October 2009 and aims to reach its target of £500,000 within six months. Currently the total stands at £402,000.
